All our Fair Isle pieces are produced by Eribe knitwear, a pioneering knitwear brand from Scotland, who create contemporary styling from traditional Scottish designs. Their expertise lies in intricate Fairisle (Fair Isle) knitting techniques and by blending patterns, colours, and natural yarns, they create unique and innovative beautiful knitwear.
Eribe use only natural fibres and each year a beautiful collection of new colour pallets emerge, designed and produced in the finest of yarns, in harmony with our vibrant natural world. Wool has always been at the heart of what Eribe do, wool is natural, renewable, and biodegradable, with technical properties no other fibre can match.
Their soft Merino lambswool for the Alpines is spun in Yorkshire by a family-owned company who have been spinning yarn for over 200 years. The fibre is dyed before it is spun - a gentle process that gives a superior colour result and soft handle.
The Kinross sweaters are made with a premium Scottish spun, fully traceable, and guaranteed non-mulesed RWS Certified superfine merino lambswool yarn. It is so soft and lightweight that it almost feels like cashmere. The spinner uses water drawn from nearby Loch Leven – the dyes used are environmentally friendly, so the water used is cleaned and returned to the bird and fish nature reserve loch once dyeing is complete.
The Westray Sweaters and Cardigans are knitted in a premium quality 100% Soft Shetland Wool spun in Yorkshire from New Zealand wool produced by suppliers who operate a very high welfare practice in the farming of their sheep. All their Shetland is sourced from mulesing-free farming and all dyes and chemicals used in the manufacturing process conform to the latest EU REACH and OEKO-TEX® regulations.
Eribe source natural fibres with the highest standards of animal welfare and take the issues of sustainability seriously. Their Yorkshire mill uses technology to reduce power usage and all wood, paper, plastic, metal and fibre waste is recycled.
